Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapy - Karen Zizzo Nurse Practitioner

Karen Zizzo

AB Hormone NP

My path in healthcare began in 1985 after earning a BSN from the University of Illinois. I spent over a decade in critical care, where I gained a strong foundation in hands-on, high-acuity nursing. This experience continues to guide my practice today.

I later earned my MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas at Austin, expanding my ability to care for patients across the lifespan. Over the years, I’ve worked in family practice, neurology, hormone replacement therapy, and aesthetics (the fun stuff- Botox and filler 😎), each setting offering its own lessons and rewards.

I’ve also had the opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate nursing students as an adjunct professor at Texas State University. Supporting the growth of our future nurses has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

As an aging woman myself, I bring both clinical training and “walking through it” experience to my practice in hormone replacement and longevity health. I understand firsthand the physical and emotional changes that come with aging, and I strive to create a space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their health journey.

My goal is simple: to help patients stay active and healthy. Aging isn’t always easy or fun, is it? Allowing yourself grace and being equipped with the right tools to be successful is vital. I’m grateful for every opportunity to walk alongside my patients on that journey.
